Are the Jews the “chosen people”?
AN UPDATE. and a WARNING....How in the world did this canard get started and why in the world is it being given legitimacy.
This article describes and comments on one of the most abominable lies of modern day Christianity/ That is
a. The Jews are “still” the chosen people.
Lets start with a question. Are the Jews still the chosen people? Well we do know this fact.
1. The Jews “were” the chosen people. The old testament absolutely confirms and documents that issue.
But the question is…. “are they still the Chosen people”?
The answer is unqualifiedly: no. And I warn you any one who teaches so are heretics and they belittle the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. Because the Sacrifice of Jesus made all those who believe in Him the “new Chosen” people. The New Elect. For He said:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
And from the ancient litany that has been censored in modern times…. Come the words of Christ.
“This is the cup of my Blood, the Blood of the new and everlasting covenant; it will be shed for you and for all, for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me”
These two passages re-enforce the proclamation that, in no uncertain terms, if you do not believe in Jesus Christ, then the Father, will not have you in His presence. Therefore, how can the Jews still be the “chosen ones” : if the Father will no longer allow them in His presence.?
Jesus also talks about the people who believe in Him in John CH 10, Sec 26 thru 30
Jesus speaking to the Jews near the porch of Solomon.
26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
Jesus basically says. If you do not believe in Me, you will be cast out. That God and He are one. So how can you be the Chosen of God when you do not believe in Jesus if “Jesus and God are one”? The answer, of course, is you cannot be chosen. You are on the outside looking in.
Here is another example in Mark 21.
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
These are Jesus’s words, not some preacher 2000 years later. The Christ is condemning the Jewish leadership and with them, all that they stand for. This is because Jewish traditions and legacies had failed to keep the commitments of the old covenant. The whole reason Jesus came to earth was because the old covenant failed. Jesus had to die on the cross to save the Jews and the rest of the world. He came to them because they were “the chosen” at that time. But they rejected Him and in rejecting Him they rejected the Father. Therefore, it follows, they lost the blessing of God. The Jews birthright has been “given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof." Since the old covenant no longer exists (see below in The Veil) and they failed to accept the New Covenant, then what are the Jews? Well logic says they are “no-one.” They are lost. Let us emphasize that. Because the Jews broke the old covenant….. and, in following, they then rejected Jesus, and therefore rejected the New Covenant: they have completely turned their back on the Father and He no longer sees them as His First Children or Chosen ones.
They have made themselves outcasts. And they will remain outcasts until that time they accept Jesus Christ. Only if they accept Jesus will they be returned to the flock and be “chosen” once again. God still loves the Jews. They broke His heart. He awaits for them to return to the flock. But returning from the darkness is their choice.
The New Covenant supersedes the Old Covenant and makes the Old Covenant obsolete.
What proof beyond Jesus’s words do we need? None. He said it Himself …"the first will be last and the last will be first.”
John14;6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
This is all we need to know. Reject Christ and you have no hope.
THE VEIL IN THE TEMPLE
Last but not least, here is the final proof that the old covenant is gone. Jewish religion was based on animal sacrifice to absolve people from sin. Only the chief priest, in the Temple could conduct this act. It was done in the “Holies of Holies” in the Temple, behind a large veil so no one else could see. Thereby concealing the holy, yet terrible presence of God.
The moment Jesus died. That Veil was torn from the very top to the very bottom. This symbolized three things.
ONE…Man’s access to God now came thru Jesus Christ, not thru a ceremony. The power of animal sacrifice was dead.
TWO: And this means that the old covenant was also finished and the start of the New Covenant had arrived. So bottom line; the Old Jewish religion which centers on the power of the chief priest and animal sacrifice was dead.
THREE: The old covenant had been fulfilled and ended. Therefore, anyone still believing in the old covenant was an apostate, a non believer. It also means that the methodology to wipe away sin is dead. There is only one way for a human to wash away sin, and that is the belief in Jesus Christ.
So, currently the Jews have never accepted Christ. They are working to build a new Temple and start the old animal sacrifice. The Jews, in their stubbornness, continue a dead religion. So how can it be that these heretics and non-believers are still considered the chosen people? The fact is, they are not.
Disagree with me? Tell me that the concept of the Jews STILL (right now) being the chosen people is not a direct contradiction of the words of Jesus Christ.
Fine, try to prove me wrong. But note, I am not using Paul’s words, or Peter’s or Timothy’s or John’s. The words I am using are of Jesus Christ. Paul, Peter and Timothy were men and Imperfect. Jesus was God and His words are Sacred.
Note: most of the TV preachers will categorically disagree with me. I would not want to be them when they face “the Man”. Like a voice in the wilderness , I will continue to bring light and Glorify Christ.
To my friends in Christ. I ask you this.
Just say, sometime in the future, the Jews rebuild the Temple. Then ….you understand what they are going to do, do you not? They will start the “rite” of Animal Sacrifice in accordance with the old covenant law. You realize that? What will this be??? For us who believe in the Lamb of God, Who took away the sins of the world… this act of animal sacrifice of the Jews will be…an ABOMINATION. Once again, a purposeful rejection of Jesus Christ, The Messiah. And what will all those ardent Israel “is sacred to God” TV preachers going to say….
“ Oh! What a wonderful thing that the Jews are fulfilling their Ancient Covenant with God.”
Blasphemy… that is what the Jews will be engaging in. … And I guarantee you, many of the evangelical preachers will support this blasphemy.
And here is the warning I will give you..
IF ANYTHING SPIRITUAL HAPPENS IN THAT TEMPLE……. Miracles, prophecies, healings, the blind to see , ANYTHING…. supernatural …KNOW THIS: those supernatural events will not be from the Power of God, but from the power of SATAN himself.
EVIL, SUCH AS THE WORLD HAS NOT SEEN SINCE THE GREAT REBELLION OF LUCIFER AND THE ANGELS.
Excellent piece and thank you. The Orthodox Church has always understood “Israel” to be the Church. What God has planned for those who did not believe is none of our business. That was once the standard doctrine of Protestantism - look at commentaries from Luther and Calvin.
When and how it was flipped upside down is an interesting story. “Christian Zionism” is the most successful heresy in the history of Christendom and the most dangerous - not just to life on the planet, but the soul itself. It’s my profound r prayer that the well-meaning and decent evangelicals will repent of this error — and soon.
